A lot of planning and money goes into a wedding so it's really important to preserve the digital Memories! RPMmedia will have provided a link for digital download or usb stick. Either way it is very important that a backup is made!
Are USB STICKS reliable? No.
Anything digital can fail. Files get corrupted, Virus, Break, get lost are just a few examples which can lead to losing your videos and photos. Three steps to help prevent this
Backup on USB or Hard Drive
Backup off-site copy in friends or parents house.
Cloud Storage
Backup on USB or Hard Drive
Another USB or hard drive can be purchased or bought on Amazon or even in Tesco. Then you simply copy (not cut) across then store this in a safe place. I have used a lot of different brands of hard drive and usb here are a few I find the most Reliable:
USB: 32Gb +
Hard drives: Western Digital,
Backup off site
Same as above but leave the usb in a safe place at work or friends house
Cloud Storage
There are several online Storage options. I use google and find them very good! Do you have a google email account? They offer 15GB free storage. It’s easy and worth setting up. 15GB Would nearly get all the videos but if not you could set up a few free accounts with different companies or pay monthly to get more.
Other online storage options:
Amazon
Microsoft One Drive
Backblaze
iCloud
Don’t put all your eggs in one basket
Me giving a usb stick or digital files is just a way of providing you with the files and should never be considered as a reliable storage method. As a company I’m only liable until you receive the files then it is up to you to keep them backed up. Having said that in the unfortunate event you lose everything please contact me! I try to keep all the digital files but with a continuous changing environment and the chance of failure and can’t and don't guarantee this. Fingers crossed I still have them!
If you have copies in a few different places you can rest easy knowing your memories will last a lifetime. I know technology and backups can be a bit overwhelming, So if you have any questions please ask!
Thanks Friends
Ryan!
